This Is What Health Looks Like

A Sustainable and Empowering Wellness Series for Disabled, Neurodivergent, and Fat Folks

Join us for a four-part series where we redefine health, find joyful movement, understand what our bodies need, and discuss practical strategies to sustain radical wellness.

Thursdays at 6 p.m. CET | 12 p.m. EST starting on July 17th to August 7th

Session #1: Radical Wellness

July 17th

As a fat, neurodivergent human, the traditional definition of health has always felt shaming and exclusive. It was not until I learned about fat bias and the malignant intentions of the medical industry that I realized I did not need to subscribe to that definition of health.

In this session, we’ll unpack the biased and ableist definition of health so we can redefine it for ourselves—and take our power back.

Session #2: Find Your Joy

Movement doesn’t have to happen in a gym surrounded by sweaty “gym bros,” counting boring sets of 10 (unless that’s your thing!). Movement can be joyful, empowering, and exhilarating — the kind that makes you say, “Wow, I didn’t know I could do that!”

Joyful movement is about building confidence — to take the stairs, get off the couch, or run with your kids (or your dog!). In this session, we’ll unpack common misconceptions about movement and brainstorm ways to move that genuinely spark joy.

July 24th

Session #3: Body Wisdom

July 31st

It took me a long time, as a disabled person, to understand my body — and how deeply my symptoms are connected to my nervous system. When I learn to speak my body’s language, I can prevent flare-ups and reduce (or even avoid) burnout.

In this session, we’ll explore how the autonomic nervous system sends us early warning signs, and how working with the vagus nerve can help us manage symptoms and move toward sustainable healing.

Session #4: Burnout Proof

Most of us have heard of The Spoon Theory and have a general sense of what it means. What I’ve found — both personally and with clients — is that applying The Spoon Theory to daily life isn’t always obvious.

In this session, we’ll explore how to make The Spoon Theory truly work for us. We’ll discuss strategies to find optimal rest and make the most of our “in-between” moments. Many small shifts toward sustainable wellness can have a big impact in reducing flare-ups and preventing burnout.
